I was on the hunt for a formal dress to wear to a wedding. My cousin was marrying my best friend and as if that wasn't enough, I was Maid of Honor. Being a plus sized girl presents challenges when it comes to every day shopping, never mind shopping for formal wear. I had been searching for months and had still not found a dress suitable for the wedding. I had almost given up hope when I was pointed in the direction of the Maximum Woman website. After viewing the website I decided to make the hour and a half drive to the store. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by 2 amazing ladies who were ready and more than willing to help me. They pulled me so many dresses I didn't know what to think! I never thought I'd be able to find a dress, let alone be picky. I found my dress that day, THE dress. I knew the second I put it on that it was what I needed to wear. The ladies worked with me to make sure I got the dress I wanted. My experience at Maximum Woman was the best I've ever had while shopping. In the end I was able to stand in front of friends and family to support two of the most important people in my life and I was able to do it feeling confident and beautiful. Thank you SO much for all of your help! You enabled me to do something I was at one point afraid I wasn't going to be able to do.

I can't tell you how glad I am to have stumbled across your website. I live in Nunavut and was planning on going home to PEI for a wedding, so I was searching online for the perfect dress. I was searching on the usual plus size stores websites but just wasn't finding anything that "popped". I hadn't been home in a year, and had lost about 70lbs in that time so I was really wanting to find that perfect dress. I happened upon your website by searching "women's plus size clothing Canada", and Maximum Woman was the first to come up on the list...and I am so glad that it did!! The first dress I saw, I fell in love with. I looked at all the dresses, but I kept gravitating back to the same one. I used your sizing charts and did my measurements and placed my order for what I hoped was the right size. I almost ordered a size larger, but trusted that the size chart was accurate and hoped for the best. The postal strike happened just after my dress was put in the mail, so I was stressed out for a couple of weeks, hoping it would arrive in Nunavut before I left to go back for the wedding and the day it arrived I was so happy! I put the dress on and it fit like a glove!! I've never put on a dress and had it fit just right. I was completely happy, felt like a million bucks and couldn't wait to show my friends and family the new me, in my new dress. We shouldn't have to give up sexy just because we wear plus size, and your website gives us the opportunity and clothes to make that happen. Thank you so much!

Never felt so good in a dress!
I just want to say thank you so very much for all your help with my dress hunt and I am so glad that i discovered your store. I visited the store a few times looking for the perfect dress to wear to a friend's wedding and tried on quite a few of them if i am not wrong. I am sure Tina knows ( i think i got the name right, i hope, sorry if i am wrong). Well anyways, i got a fabulous dress which i felt ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC in. I don't think i have ever felt that good in a dress in all my life! I also don't think i have ever received as many compliments on a dress or how i looked in all my life as well. I had a fantastic time at the wedding and that has alot to do with how fantastic i looked. It was a very easy dress to wear which made dancing that much more fun because i was not worried about what the dress was doing. And of course i did promote your store to quite a few friends as well and i think i advertised you guys pretty well. haha.
The best part of this experience for me was the fact that I didn't feel like i was being given up on no matter how many dresses I tried on. Tina gave me her honest opinion on absolutely everything and i greatly appreciate that as i was not always able to bring someone with me. She even got me to try on something i was not sure about and sure enough it was what i ended up purchasing. Also, even though i had found a dress already, there was another dress i liked as well which wasn't guaranteed to come in on time. Well 2 days before the wedding Tina calls me and tells me that other dress did come in and that i could come in to try it on and decide from there. Let's just say i ended up with not one but 2 dresses i absolutely adored.
I Thank You immensely for all your help in finding not one but 2 perfect dresses for me.

Worth the drive ...
| This past June was my high school prom and it took f-o-r-e-v-e-r to find the perfect dress. I was getting discouraged because I couldn't find any nice formal dresses anywhere. So, I "Googled" and found this store. I begged my dad to go there for weeks, and he finally said yes!
We drove for four and a half hours to get to Toronto and hit up your store. I was so surprised and happy with the huge selection of dresses you have! I found two dresses that I loved. I chose this one, and it was a great choice. Everyone loved it and I felt so beautiful!
I will be heading back for another dress for winter formal.

My mom and I shopped at your store in the summer, for a dress for my mom on my wedding day! We both absolutely fell in love with your store! A great idea to be able to try on multiple dresses in my mom's size and she felt the most comfortable dress shopping then she ever thought she would. We have been back since, and are planning another trip, (as we are from southwestern Ontario)
I'm writing because I want to say again, Thank you thank you thank you! My mom looked beautiful and was so happy with her dress and that makes me happy!

A Wedding Over Cocktails
Like most brides know they want to wear white - I knew I wanted to wear black... but where to find a plus size black 'wedding' dress that suited our "A Wedding Over Cocktails" event!? I went online in search of something that would work one Saturday afternoon while at work. I found your website and was excited to see so many great outfits - I was even more excited when I saw you had a store IN Toronto.
I got into the store, found the dress, tried it on, and bought it all in one hour. I was so excited I didn't even bother to call my bridesmaid - your staff was more than enough help!
If I had searched store to store for days on end I wouldn't have found something so perfect.

Quest for a Wedding Dress

Fantastic Experience

In August, I started the search for a dress for my brother in law's wedding. I dread clothes shopping, because I can never find something that I like on the rack that looks good when I try it on. I have gotten bored shopping at the 2 plus size stores that I am aware of.
I started looking on line, and found a dress that I loved, but it was through a on-line store...I was stuck, because I have never ordered on line before, but I loved the dress. I don't know why I googled the name of the clothing line, but am I ever glad I did, as I stumbled upon Maximum Woman. They had the dress! They had lots of dresses! They had lots of trendy dresses! They had lots of trendy dresses that weren't black, and were age appropriate!
Never, ever, in my life have I had a shopping experience like this...my husband/fashion advisor and I found the store on a Sunday morning. We were the only ones in the shop save for a very helpful and pleasant sales associate (whose name I wish I could remember). The dress was there! Not in the red I was hoping for, but I had seen the other colours on line, and quickly found the green in my size. Even though I was sure that was the dress, I took advantage of the fact that I was able to try on LOTS of dresses that were perfect - fit, style, colour - wow! The green dress was still the winner, but the idea of having CHOICE was so new to me. And to be in and out in less than an hour, with something I was thrilled with, having had options, and at such a reasonable price was just such an amazing experience.
I have attached a picture of my husband and I at the wedding, and the infamous green dress was a smashing success.

Hi there beautiful ladies!!
Last summer I was at a standstill and desperately looking for a
special dress for my niece's wedding in August. Being a plus size
woman I was so tired of the traditional stores because it was
inevitable that someone at the 300+ wedding was going to have the same
dress. I had put on a substantial amount of weight since being on so
many heavy steroid medications and being diagnosed with a rare
autoimmune disease that I really wanted to look my best.
I came across your website and my sister Fatima to the left
of me and my niece drove me from Mississauga to your store. There I
met your newest staff member Pam who guided me through without the
slightest of pressure to my dream dress!!!! She made me feel
beautiful, special and amazing!!!!
P.S. I will be coming in the store soon to purchase my second pick
that day, the Scalloped Boudoir Lace Dress in Black!!! I hope you have
it in stock!!!

A Beauty in Belle
I just wanted to let you know what a great shopping experience I had in your store. I had a wedding to attend in March and I could find NOTHING - but NOTHING - that was appropriate to wear. Everything in stores was that icky clingy cheap-looking polyester that screams "junior prom" - I while I don't have a problem with proms, I don't want to wear the same kind of thing I did when I was sixteen. Nor do I want to look like the mother of the bride.
Enter Maximum Woman. I called to enquire about the Belle dress in red - there was only one size sixteen left, and the saleslady very sweetly offered to hold it for me until I could come in to try it on. I came the same day, but because I missed a bus I had exactly FORTY MINUTES to buy a dress before I had to leave and catch a bus back again. And the two women in the store could not have been more charming or helpful. One ushered me to the dressing room (very spacious and lovely) with the Belle, while the other ransacked the store to find everything cocktail-length and colourful (which I asked for). I tried everything on, greatly appreciating the mules in the dressing room (such a small thing but it makes a world of difference). When I emerged in the Belle, they cheered! And as you can see from the attached picture, I felt like cheering too.
So thanks for everything, and good luck with the second location!

I have been a 'big girl' (size 14) most of my adult life. This is the 1st boutique I have shopped in that makes me feel like a "Real Woman"! I feel comfortable showing off my curves and feeling proud of how I look, as opposed to hiding in bagging, unflattering clothes. Since moving to Richmond Hill, I still make the trip out to Maximum Woman...It's worth it and so am I!

I ordered clothes from Maximum Woman and I love them!! They are so fun and stylish. It's so hard to find nice clothes that are trendy and fashionable without having to order from the USA or UK and you always need a credit card. Then it's 4-8 weeks for delivery and a large shipping fee as well. My order arrived within 2 business days. The shipping options were so flexible, I could even arrange my own shipping. Payment was easy even for me (I don't use credit cards), I just payed straight from my bank account via an email transfer. It was as easy as a few clicks of a mouse. I would definitely recommend Maximum Woman as a great site for Plus Size woman to shop. It keeps business in Canada too! Keep up the great work ladies! You Rawk!
